My husband, NPC stage IV a, squamous cell was just given the free and clear PET scan yesterday.
I started my message to you in this way for a purpose. Survival of NPC is very possible with the right plan in place. I strongly encourage you to join and read discussions on the general page of Head and Neck section of this website. These survivors were instrumental in providing insight for us all along the road.
Which, by the way, can be brutal. Make no mistake that cancer treatments will kick your rear. But you CAN do it! I have a lot to share if you want it. Just let me know.
As to the type of cancer you have, I am not an expert. What I do know is that there are different forms of NPC cells and squamous and lymphoepithelioma (aka Regaud type) and two of them. I also found that the type didn't seem to affect the treatment plan or the outcome. This might be helpful to know. Wikipedia actually has some layman type information you can click thru.
