Hi, although I am a lot older than your wife, I had surgery for Bartholin's Gland cancer, Stage 4,. It was a partial radical vulvectomy which also removed most of my lymph nodes between my knees and waist. I have now outlived my prognosis by 15 months. Last year I had one infection after another and was very frustrated. My doctors in Virginia said the only thing they could recommend was going on antibiotics permanently to prevent this. I retired in Mexico in 2005, but see my doctors in Virginia once a year. When I went to my gynecological oncologist here we discussed my concerns about long term antibiotic use. He recommended that I keep antibiotics on hand and start to take them as soon as I felt an infection coming on, but also I should find someone that did deep massage and ensure they massaged my thighs from the knees towards my heart. I found a wonderful masseuse and that is what she does. I have not had a serious infection since I started seeing her once a month. That combined with bicycling seems to keep that fluid moving. They left most of my clitoris, but I think that even if they had to remove you wife's, you are certainly young enough to be experimental enough to ensure you both have the same type pleasure with sex that you had before the surgery. Good luck. Jacqueline Partridge
