Hello,
My wife just found out that she has Metastatic Colon Cancer to the lung for the second time and I am looking for suggestions and guidance for people that have been through something similar. To give you some History, my wife was originally diagnosed when she was 29 with Colon Cancer and had surgery to remove as well as Chemo. Shortly after her Chemo, they found that it had traveled to her Liver. She than had part of her Liver removed and followed it again with Chemo. 5 years later, they found that it had traveled to the Lung this time but only one spot. They again, did surgery and followed with Chemo.
Fast forward to today... She now has it back in her lung but it appears that it is worse this time as they see at least 3 areas in the original lung and another in her other lung. We met with the Oncologist yesterday and he said that Surgery is not really an option this time since it is in both lungs so he recommended Chemo to try and shrink the areas. We also talked with him about traveling to MD Anderson to have them look at her and investigate clinical trials.
I am so scared for her but trying to be strong in front of her and supportive as I don't know how it is going to turn out this time. Has anyone been through this and can offer some advice or suggestions. My wife is very strong and I know she will do great with whatever is thrown at her but we are losing our mind because it never seems to go away.
Thanks for any advice and I pray for everyone that has to go through this.
