Has anyone tried the trial with the Cetuximab? Mom diagnoised 1 year ago nsc IV lung cancer. Had metasised to lymph nodes, liver and both lungs.Given Carbo/Taxel/Avastin. Finished November 2007. Last week CT scan showed liver had multiple tumors that a few that had more than doubled in size since Nov. 2007 . Brain scan came back today with two small tumors. They want to treat her liver first then see about her brain tumors. We are concerned they should treat liver and brain at same time. The nurse called today and said "the tumors are small in the brain and not in a location that would cause her concern" She can't write, she loses her balance and has fallen about 6 times. I think this is cause for concern!
What questionn should we ask the doctor?
Also unsure if she will be chosen for radom trail of Cetuximab. Will found out later this week. Our concern is she gets the best treatment for her tumors. She is a very healthy vibrant 72 year old women. You would not know she is sick if you did not know her. After reading many sites on the Cetuximab, unsure if worth the weekly treatment to add 5 weeks to her life if it is hard on her. Please share anything you can. We need her and she is no way ready to go. Thank you so much, Kathy
