Hi Lindsay - I went thru the same exact thing - I was 20 when diagnosed after a lump popped out in my neck. ENT did needle biopsy, then surgery to remove the node and you know the rest. That was way back in 1989 when the anti nausea drugs were terrible - I had ABVD back then and sick is not the word to describe it. As far as losing the hair - though it did thin very much, I never lost it all. I bought a wig just in case, but as it thinned I decided that that was me, this was my life now and if I lost all my hair I was just going to wear a bandana around my head. I was diagnosed a second time with Hodgkins in 1994 - this time I got MOPP with radiation. The chemo was a breeze compared to the first time around. I actually remember going to the County Fair the night of the day of my first treatment! They've come so far with the treatment - you should do just fine. I am now nearing 20 years since my first diagnosis! I want you to know also - I was told that I would never be able to have children after the second round of treatment in 1994 - - well, in 1997 my miracle baby was born! Anything is possible if you just believe and stay positive. I'm 40 years old now and still see my oncologist once a year. Cancer has changed my life - changed my perception of life. I appreciate everything and see the beauty in so much more than I ever did before. There will be a positive in the end for you as well. Stay strong.
