I attended the doctors last week (monday). he checked my neck and said he could only feel one lump (the small one is really tiny sometimes i can hardly find it) he examined me for maybe a minute before telling me its just a cyst. He seemed confident in his diagnosis and this guy has been the family doctor for over 20 years (grandparents, cousins, parents, siblings) and he has never misdiagnosed any of them before)
I am kinda still worried since my glands in my neck have swollen a little since i went to see him (only slightly sore), i think its because i was poking and checking the nodes in my neck for about a week that they have swollen up so i am going to give it another week then if the swelling hs not subsided then i will get a second opinion.
Hi, I had Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, but then again I did have a substantial neck lump. My GP tested for gandular fever and it came back negative. I also didn't feel unwell so was not surprised.
I was thinking of buying another property at the time so needed to know if anything was really wrong so I was fast-tracked, had a CT scan then a biopsy. Initially it was thought Hodgkins then when I was referred to a cancer hospital for the chemo, they decided it was NHL. I had other lymph nodes affected I couldn't see myself (in my abdomen that the CT scan reealed) which only fully responded once I had high dose chemo with an autologeous bone marrow transplant.
I had none of the other classic symptoms of NHL, like night sweats, though I did lose a bit of weight.
Just keep an eye on it and don't poke it about!
If needs be you can get a needle aspiration and biopsy then you will know for sure.
