Hello Ellen;
Finding your message was just like reading my own. 2000 I was diagnosed with Signet Ring Stomach Cancer. As well, was first diagnosed by endoscopy - finding a small ulcer on top of my stomach and then less than two weeks later was in hospital and they took the entire stomach. 9 out of 12 lymph nodes were affected and one was a centimeter and a half in size. A short time after surgery I started Chemo/Radiation - both at the same time. Took 5 long years Ellen ~ but I'm eating "everything" - back to the job I loved so much and now - this November I'm 6 years cancer free!!!!
I'm hoping my note gives you some peace maybe hope that miracles CAN happen ... biggest thing is your mom needs to keep as positive an attitude as possible. Lots of calm, loving and easy days and just "accept" treatments and keep believing all will be well. Maybe she can communicate with me and I can offer encouragement???
God bless you both and I'm here for you both ... Sorry for not seing your note till today. I haven't had the time to check on this site for a while ~ but realized this morning how very very important it is for me to "make time" since I'm one of a billion to survive what I did and need to be there to encourage others to STAY STRONG AND BELIEVE THAT 'cancer CAN be beaten'... I'm proof of it!!!!
Peace Love and Joy my new friends ... (visit dailystrength.com for more support and info) xoxoxoxox my name there is missnewf11

Hi, My Mom, who is the hero of my life, was accidently diagnosed with diffuse signet cell adenocarcinoma of the stomach. She had an appointment for a colonoscopy (we have family history of pancreas and colon cancer and she has had some benign pollyps removed in the past). She had some intermittent hunger and heartburn feelings the last month- 2 months and thought she maybe had the beginnings of an ulcer. She had one a long time ago.So she asked if they could do the endoscopy at the same time and they found a clean colon and a stomach ulcer with some cancer cells which were biopsied etc. The next step is the barium and CAT scan in 2 days. I am so worried. I want to be strong for her and in front of her but I am not ready to be without her. Has anyone elses cancer been found this way? I'd like to hear your story. thanks to you all who are so brave and I pray for your recoveries. Ellen
