Hi Millie, WOW, what a wonderful story !! I'm so happy for you and so thankful that you took time to write to me. I too have not been visiting this site for a little while. I needed to take a little hiatus of reading and wondering if anyone elses story would or wouldn't be my Mom's path. Well, the break was good because i found that if you're not thinking of it 24/7 it lets you explore and see things a little differently. Like, I realize some things are just out of our hands and like my Mom says , what will be, will be and we'll deal with it. I believe very strongly about positive energy too. Anyway, as you may have read both, the CT and PET scans were negative and her cancer marker blood test was 1.7 so she had a repeat and more extensive endoscopy with 40 specimens collected from all different areas. She got the results today and it appears that it is very small and at the bottom of her stomach in the antrum area. So she has made some appointments to a Surgeon who specializes in stomach and cancer and another with someone else and a follow up with her primary. So her next appt. is next Thursday and one of the Surgeon s Aug 20th. I wish it were sooner. Why was yours done so quickly , did you have other tests etc, and what part of your stomach was it in? Prayers for excellent health to year and I so appreciate that you are here for us esp. after you have been already cured. G-d bless you! Ellen
Hello Ellen;
Thank you for your reply. I'm so thankful to be able to offer any help for you and your mom. I know what it is like trying to find information, and I just kept finding all negative and made the decision to just as your mom says "What will be will be and we'll just deal with it" attitude. I hope her upcoming tests go well and I look forward to your updates. My surgery was done so fast since it was such an aggressive cancer and being a jouvenile one (they didn't know enough about it) they had to act fast. It started at the top of my stomach and in a matter of days had spread throughout the entire stomach. My surgeon did a miraculous job and got ALL the cancer, but the chemo/radiation was preventitive measures since it was so aggressive. That's a big part of my survival, I'm sure. I pray your mom's recovery goes as well too. Try to keep her sourounded with peace, calm, laughter (maybe some funny videos/movies etc.).
Take care and God bless you both...
