Hi, First I wish your Mom a full recovery , 2nd as the others have said, get rid of that person who calls himself DR. and before you do shove the patient bill of rights and the Drs. code of ethics up his rear end!!!! I have worked in hospitals for over 30 years and NO ONE should talk or treat anyone that way! His treatment plan may be correct (I really don't know one way or the other) but his forcefulness and insensitivies are not appropriate. It is your Mom's body and she has a right to do what she wishes. His job is to inform you of the treatments available and the pros and cons of all of them including poss. side effects and what might happen if treatment is not done. He is not G-d, he is just a man who "practices" medicine. Also report him to the Hospital or better yet, the Medical Licensing Board. (But do that after your Mom's treatments etc...) . Best of luck and health!! Ellen
