After extensive bleeding during my periods my doctor and I discussed a procedure called endometrial ablation. Before such a procedure can be done you have to have a viginal ultrasound and cervical biopys to rule out the presents of cancer. The ultrasound showed many cysts and due to the cysts and multiple c-sections the doctor decided that the procedure would need to be done in the hospital under a general. A few days later he did a biopsy which showed multiple polyps. Heres my question...I was under the impression that they would call me with the biopsy results, however, after the biopsy an appointment was made to meet the the doctor with the resutls. Is it normal to meet with the doctor to get the results of a biopsy that is done for pre-surgery or is the meeting something he decide after looking into the cervix and uterus? Please advise
