My mother aged 62 (non-smoker, asian) was diagnosed in April with stage 3B non-small celled lungcancer which has metastasized into the pleura and breastbone.
4 weeks ago she started the combination treatment of Tarceva and Sorafenib. It is a phase II trail, a treatment in which the patient receives a combination of Tarceva (Erlotnib) combined with Sorafenib (Nexavar).
Last week she had her first check-up and....It has worked!
--> The growth had shrunk from 4cmx9cm to 2cm diameter and the primary tumor is now hollow. The pleura fluid in her lung is also gone.
She went from using strong painkillers like Fenatnyl, diclovenac Oxycontin to using no painkillers at all (!)
She does experience the side-effects of the medicine and is very curious if other people experience the same and how they cope...
Does anybody have any experience with the combination treatment of Tarceva (Erlotnib) combined with Sorafenib (Nexavar)?
