Hi fellow Kiwi, my wife was diagnosed with bile duct cancer in March, couldn't be operated on and sent to make contact with the local hospice. She was really interested in eating much, the lead up to being diagnosed basically become 'malnourished". We went to a clinic who offers alternative therapies and had a full blood test done and found her estrogen, testosterone, progesterone, thyroids and adrenals we all at rock bottom. To the best of my knowledge none of these were tested for in the hospital over the 4 1/2 weeks she was there.
These low levels contributed to lethargy, lack of diet, and a number of other things. She is now getting back to normal and living the new vegan diet with lots of meditation, relaxation, forgivness (emotional release) is feeling great.
We spent 10 days at a retreat in Australia especially for cancer patients and learnt a lot to help ourselves, many things not often promoted or accepted by doctors as an alternative to accepting their verdicts.
Look at www.gawler.org for an snipperts that may be of use.
Hope this has helped. Regards,
