Last year my dad was diagnosed with Melanoma, he had a tumor on his lung, but no primary detected.  It was surgically removed and was successful for a while.  Yesterday we were told within three months of his last pet scan that there is a new tumor in the same lung and uptake in his left hand as well as his left foot.  Lymph nodes are also enlarged.

The doctors said surgery is not an option because of the scar tissue from the last surgery and even if they did, because of the enlarged lymph nodes it may not make a difference.  They are going to get back to us with a plan of action, but when we started this journey we were told chemo and radiation are not very effective with this type of cancer.

Has anyone been in a similar situation or heard of any new treatments?  He wants to fight, but feels there is no hope and the doctors weren't too optimistic.  What about cyberknife, has anyone had experience and what were the results?

Thanks for any info.

Hi Tink1747 I’m sorry for what you and your  dad are going through I know what it like to go through this to as Iv had several relatives with cancer but this might help Yester day morning I was on my morning walk along the beach I often met a few friends and neighbors. I told them about your dad with Melanoma, one of the ladies said her husband was told that there are teas that can help with Melanoma there’s Flor Essence tea Essiac tea and Green tea she said the one that helped her husband was  Essiac tea .since yester day I been trying to find out more about this after  emailing and talking to a few of the good members on this website and also going into sites on the web I think she’s might be right it looks like  these teas will  work not just to help fight Melanoma but on other cancer as will if you just Google Melanoma and green tea you will see what I mean Hope this helps Ray.
