I have posted on this board before. My sister was diagnosed with Stage IV stomach cancer in April, 2007. We were just in the hospital with her the last couple of days. She has been having chemo for the last 14 months, and now it seems that she is failing more and more. She is unable to keep any food down. They have her on TPN (Total Parental Nutrition) and fluids. The hospital did send her home today. I am wondering what we are looking at now. When a person with stomach cancer continues to vomit, what will happen next? Does anyone have a similar circumstance? She wants to fight the fight, but I am getting more worried all the time. She has a 14 year old daughter that I know she is scared to leave. Is there any hope? Can a person with TPN continue to thrive even though they are throwing up fluids? The hospital told her to stay away from food orally to hopefully help with the vomiting. I guess I am just scared and hoping someone out there can share their experience with me. Thanks, Cheryl
