In May I got the results back of my pap test, and was told that I have HPV. Soon after I got a colpo, and the results of that were that I have CIN 1 and the ecc came back positive for CIN 1 as well.
My gyno recommended a cryo. I actually liked my gyno, but after I did a lot of research I found that cryo was not the best treatment especially if ur ecc is positive. My gyno had seemed so sure that that was the best treatment, but since everything I read contradicted that I decided to get a second opinion.
A couple of weeks later I saw a new gyno, who was really great. When she read my medical history and labs she said I definitely should not be getting cryo. She doubted that my ecc was actually positive, because I'm young (22yrs old) and she said its easy to get a a false positive because when testing the endocervical canal, sometimes there is "backscrapping" which means it can show up positive because it touched the lesion on the exocervix.
Now its July, only about 2 months after my first colpo. I got the results from my second colpo. I still do have CIN 1, but the ecc was negative. I was glad to hear that, but of course apart of me was skeptical to believe it to be true. I dont kno if the first colpo was just a fluke, or it just "healed", or if the second colpo is a fluke. Im inclined to think the first colpo was a fluke.
My gyno recommended a colpo in 6 months. I'm going to consult with another gyno for a 3rd opinion soon, I dont have insurance and hardly any money to spare. But its worth knowing whats going on with my body even if im scraping pennies off the floor.
Since my finding out I have HPV i've been taking a multi-vitamin with lycopene, co-Q10, b-12, C,E,A and all that other good stuff, as well as fish oil. I'm planning on taking extra Vit C. I eat a lot of broccoli, cabbage, oranges, tomatoes and oatmeal. Hopefully this will help a bit. If not atleast I feel healthier.
I am thankful for this message board because it's helped alot. Its scary to think that this is only the beginning of a long road of dealing with HPV, but it helps to have this message board to turn to.
p.s.
I've read that being on birthcontrol, is not good when you have HPV but, unfortunately I have Poly cystic ovarian syndrome and thats currently my only option for treatment... does anyone have HPV and PCOS?
