I am one of those people who is still alive because of the Tarceva. My cancer responded moderately to the chemo and radiation (about 20% improvement), but once I got on the Tarceva, the tumors have shrunk to an immeasureable size! I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't try it. The side effects are just bothersome for me. Am happy to trade out these problems to be alive! For me...I have diarrhea..which is something I can control. Frequent rashes, which is kept down with Aveeno oatmeal lotion and vaseline. Sometimes I get tired, again...not a big deal. The side effects get better as your body adjusts. Please encourage your dad to try it...he should know within a few months if it would work or not. Good Luck! Donna
