Subject: newly diagnosed at 35yo with radical hysterectomy
Date: 07/18/2008
Hi all...I'm grateful for this board.  I had cryo 10 years ago because of abnormal pap.  I then had 2 children.  Now I had a pap on June 21 and was referred to a gyne/onc for a colposcopy and biopsy.  She did that and said that due to the results "moderately invasive carcinoma" I should have a radical hysterectomy with removal of lymph nodes and "probably" no addition treatment.  My questions are this:  Has anyone ever heard of the hysterectomy with lymph node removal in a case like this?  Does anyone know any GREAT gyn/onc in the Chicago area?  Does anyone know of any holistic help that I can start on?  I will have the surgery anyway...but I am just not certain about the lymph removal or is this just standard practice?  I have a call into the dr. and the clinic, but seems really agressive (maybe it should be?)  I am 35 yo and don't care about the removal of the uterus...I am keeping my ovaries.
