I've had ongoing stomach problems for 3 to 4 years. Low functioning gall bladder, hernia and acid reflux. A recent bout with bad pain and elevated white blood cell count sent me to get first MRI. MRI revealed unknown mass on outside stomach wall between stomach and spleen. Doctors are not sure exactly where the mass is, but say it is not yet a full-blown mass. The dr. said it was about 3 in. x 3 in. My liver, pancreas, spleen and other organs look great. My blood work-up is great. I'm scheduled for endoscopy later this week, but GI dr. said he didn't expect to find anything inside my stomach. I'm worried. I don't know what plan B is. Is this common? I'm female in my 40's. I'm not sure why they don't go ahead and do another surgical procedure the same day if they don't find anything in the stomach. Will they do exploratory surgery? If it's benign will they just leave it alone?
