I too had bariatric surgery about 4 years ago and did wonderfully until 10/07 when I started haveing upper right abdominal pain; after 3 months I was diagnosed with a tumor in my pancreas. The Whipple surgery was successful but it turned out to be a rare form of cancer: Small Cell CArcinoma, which is usually found only in the lungs. My chemo and radiation were for insurance only to keep it away but 5 months later it is back in my liver with a poor diagnosis.
The docs assure me there's no connection to the orinigal surgery.
