My husband (36 year old) has just been diagnosed with a reacurrence of Soft Tissue Sarcoma. Thursday will be his 4th surgery. Each time it has been in the same spot on his left leg. However, with this surgery there is no way to save his leg.
So I am wondering if anyone has been through this kind of an amputation. We are in MA and we are getting 2 different recogmendations for rehab. We just aren't sure what the best choice is. Some say Spaulding. So say they are too big and we should look at Whittier (which is also closer to home). I'm just not sure which is best for his whole recovery and it is beginning to look like this is going to be my decision. I'm just afraid I'm going to make the wrong one.
