I am so sorry to hear about your cancer and the stage you are in. Unfortunately, doctor's make mistakes too. Mine did! I am a colon cancer survivor of 7 mos. 'The chemo gave me another disease...pulmonary fibrosis. I told the doctor about the dry cough I had and asked him if it had anything to do with the chemo and he said NO!! He was wrong and he sould have know that that is one of the BAD side affects of oxaliplatin. It is so rare that anyone gets this fibrosis..... less then 1% in the world. But....had he listen to me and had an xray done, my fibrosis wouldn't have been as bad. I went on for two more months getting chemo. I am on oxygen, need someone to live with me because there are so many things I can no longer do on my own. So you see, I feel your frustration and anger. I also cannot work. I was a realtor making 6 figures. That is quite a drop in income!! That doesn't compare to the health problems I have now. I am on prednisone and that gave me diabetes!! My body has swollen to grotesque proportions. I could go on and on.
I don't know when you will read this as this is the day for your surgery, but I want to say good luck to you and keep positive no matter what happens. I do believe that your attitude is 90 % of getting better. If you want to email me, you can do so at --- Message edited by CancerCompass staff: for personal protection, email address removed.
