Thanks so much for your reply. Yes, since my posting a few years back, I've had the radical cysto-prostatectomy. I had it done November of 2002. Hard to believe it's going on 3 years already. Yes, we agree with the universities in Chicago - the best thing to do was remove the bladder since I had not responded well to BCG. I had a high grade TCC with carcinoma in situ - a strong formula for radical cystectomy.
I'm doing very well. All check-ups have been good - free of disease anywhere. I had some scar tissue develop that was giving me trouble voiding, but that was taken care of earlier this year. Occasionally I have to self-cath also. I don't leak in the day, and rarely at night. My sexual function is very good, even without assistance from drugs. Can't complain about much here, and the best thing is I've now got a wonderful 2 year old daughter I'll be around to enjoy a lot longer!
