Choosing Next Level Of Treatment

Subject: Arimidex
Date: 11/09/2005
I don't know if I am any help, but I take arimidex for adjuvant treatment for endometrial stromal sarcoma, which is hormonally respondent.
I have been taking it for almost three years. The side effects for me are hot flashes and bone pain. The bone pain was bad at first but is basically tolerable now. I believe you find what bothers you and tackle the problem. Your Dr can help you with side effects.
I have osteopenia due to lack of estrogen, and have been taking fosamax. My bone density improved with my last bone density test.
My hot flashes are being handled with great success by taking a small dosage of megace every third day.
I guess you have to look at all the bad and the good and then pick your medication. At least you know if one doesn't work your you, you can always try another.
good luck!
Susan Lambert
