Subject: Acute Myelofibrosis
Date: 11/29/2005
My husband is 65 and was diagnosed 31/12/03 ,he was 17 stone and had a pain in his side which Drs kept saying was a pulled muscle.Eventually after several visits he was given a blood test and rushed into hospital for a bone marrow biopsy and transfusion. He has since had his spleen removed ,was on Thalidomide for over a year and is now awaiting a bone marrow transplant. He has transfusions every two weeks and we have had a lot of other problems on our way to this .He is now 11 stone and in tremendous pain ,luckily his sister was a doner for him and is going into hospital next week to donate for him .Do we have anyone out there who has had a transplant recently with any advice ?
