My name is Debbie and I was diagnosed with MGUS 18 months ago. I am 43. My consultant said the same thing and that I shouldn't worry about the transgression to other things because it might not happen. It's ok to just say it, going through the worrying is another thing when you've got this. I am a lot better than I was. I went into a big black hole and everyone just said 'it'll be ok' and 'it might not even happen!' so I know how you feel. Like you, it's just me and my child - I have a daughter who is 8 and she means the world to me and leaving her would be the worst thing imaginable.
