First of all im very sorry to hear about your firend. Did they find the cancer too late?

Hospice unfortuantely from what i know only would allow one to stay in the hospital if you are terminally ill and will die within a week or two. My only suggestion is to get a list of family friends and community people to pitch in for meals and care. When my friend had chemo we made a schedule for a family a day to bring meals and provide any assisance she needed. While this was chemo not end stage cancer it was helpful to her. Perhaps her religious affiliaction has people who could also assist. My best to you and your friend.
