Well, I finished taking the 2x per day Efudex treatment for 24 days about 9 days ago, and feel pretty good now.
The first three to five days after quitting the application were still very tough with peeling skin and greasy Aquaphor to soothe it all, and almost no sleep with the remaining pain and itching. But the last couple have been OK. Even stopped using Aquaphor after the first week of finishing the treatment.
Now my face is just dry and real flaky - like dandruff on the front of my shirts and sweater - but no pain, taking showers and washing seems fine, and the color has toned down to a mild sunburn. My cheeks and nose have stopped swelling, and I feel fine.
Hope this was all worth it, but at least I feel I am on the path to normalcy, as some President said (Harding?).
