Dear Carol, I read about your sister not having insurance...here is what happened in my Mothers situation and maybe you could do the same thing...a trusted friend of the family sent out a newsletter to all of the family members friends, co-workers, etc. stating the situation of her health and financial situation. She set up a Benefit Account at the bank and people started donating money to the account. Some people gave one time or a few times and others set up a regular withdrawal from their account every month. My Mother was so surprised how many people wanted to help, she was so encouraged by the response. Every month the trustee of the account gives my Mother a list of the people that have donated money. My Mother writes a thank you card and gives them an update on her condition. At any time they can contact the trustee and get an update also. Anyway, maybe this is something that you can do also. It has worked out better than I thought it would when I first heard about it.
i also have ovarian cancer. Mine has come back after 3 years and is worse than the first time. It has spread to my lymph nodes and through my body they also told me it was terminal, but couldn't tell me how long i had to live, so i figure that i would be around for a while.
