Subject: Pet Scans

anyone hear of false positives on PET scans? Had cat scan suggestive of cancer of lymph nodes and follow up PET this week. Today the Doc told me there was alot of uptake and probably false positives..have endoscopy coming up as follow up to PET but, I am confused? Why test if there are so many false readings?
