Hi, I was diagnosed recently with ET from the blood tests taken to confirm my pregnancy. I am currently taking both a daily aspirin and interferon injections three times a week. I'm particularly interested in hearing from women with ET who have had successful pregnancies, as I am aware that ET increases chances of miscarriage - although any support would be welcome! This doesn't appear to be a well known disease! My platelet count was 1532, I am 26 and this is my first pregnancy. Erin :D
Hi, I was diagnosed with ET a 5 years ago. In the begining my plaletes were 500. After a year my plaletes were high as 800. I had to iniciate treatment with Agrilyn. My doctor said that would not be a good idea to have kids. My husband and I were really sad with the news. I really want o have a baby. Within 3 years on Agrilyn and plalets down I got pregnant. My doctor's opinion still the same, I shoudn't have the baby. I decided to have a second opinion with some specialist. The specialist was an angel. He told me if I really want the baby I was going to be just fine. He recommended me a daily baby aspirin. No medication at all. I just had to be monitored by him every two weeks until I had the baby. During the pregnancy my plaletes went down a litle be. I was over a 1000. So I had a really blessing pregnancy. My daugther is one year old. She is a really health baby. I hope you are doing well. I'm 35 years old. If you have any question feel free to ask me. God bless you and your family.
