We received helpful guidance from the nutritionist at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. One of the things that sticks out in my mind that she told us was that sugar is a "fertilizer" for cancer. We had no idea. There are alternatives, however.
Also, as a rule of thumb, she told us to choose foods as close to their original source as possible.
I have a notebook full of nutrition info. I need to go through and share more ideas. Somewhere in my collection of papers, there are lists of cancer fighters (super foods) as well as a list of foods to avoid.
Maybe your dr. could give you a referral to a nutrition specialist? It is amazing what a huge role diet can play when fighting cancer.
