Garagegirl,
Like I said, it's a long story and I have several posts by "kimgee" under pancreatic, liver cancer, and supplements. My story started in 2002 when a very large (small football size) tumor was found in my pancreas. (Neuroendicrine tumor) It was removed along with 50% of my pancreas, spleen, gall bladder and lymph nodes. It had spread to my liver. Had RFA and embolization done, but tumors continued to spread. I started on Ambrotose from Mannatech (large doses)and felt great, but CT's showed tumors were not going away. I'm young with small children, in great health, and was approved for a liver transplant, which I received in 2005. Oddly enough, when my old liver was biopsied, it wasnt' as bad as they originally thought and there was evidence that my body was fighting off the tumors. Had complications unrelated to cancer, and almost died twice, but am cancer free as of last week. I've had cancer and a liver transplant, but I feel better than I've felt since I was a teenager, and I believe it's the Mannatech products. I take several products from them and I have great energy, better skin, better hair, am less hormonal and am healthier than most people I know. Through all of my procedures I recovered quickly and am on such a low dose of anti-rejection medicines from the transplant, that my doctors don't know what to make of it! If you do some research on glyconutrients, you'll find that they help your cells correct themselves and work properly, allowing your body to heal and function as it was made to do. Some people say it's a hoax, but I know what worked for me and keeps me feeling good. I tried going off of the products for a few weeks, because of the cost. After 4 weeks I went back on them. I won't go without them again, knowing how much healthier they make me feel. I never had radiation or chemo. I also walk 2-3 several times a week, drink green or black tea everyday, and stay away from processed foods if possible. I use a lot of olive oil, eat organic as much as possible, grow most of my own vegetables, and avoid a lot of sugar. I also eat high antioxidant foods as much as possible. Keep doing research as much as possible on nutrition. Check out Dr. Ehmet Oz's books. (he's on Oprah)Most of what we buy in the stores, even fruits and vegetables don't contain the vitamins and minerals they used to 50 years ago. Don't take no for an answer from doctors. Find one that gives you the answers you want. Someone mentioned finding a doctor that does chemical trials. Good idea, as most of them are a little more open minded regarding treatments. You have to be proactive. Let me know if you need more specific info. Kim
