My husband had a severe mohs surgery on his nose for basal cell. He now has it on his ear and they want to do the mohs again.
The procedure lasted from 8 am til 10 pm - much of it waiting in the waiting room for lab results from each layer removed. After 6 removals, they were ready to "close" the wound. All of this with only topical anesthesia. He became very agitated and needed other meds to sedate. The pile of needles was enormous from the numbing to close.
He could hardly walk to leave the office and there was no attempt to assist with wheelchair. They even were going to make us take a very long route to the parking area bec the main doors were locked (10 pm) - until I insisted they open the doors close by and wouldnt' take no for an answer.
I don't want this to happen again. Is there a plastic surgeon for oncology who could perform and more humane procedure?
I don't know what to do to help my husband.
