My husband has a similar situation, Synovial Soft Tissue Sarcoma removed from his shoulder in 2001 it was large 5cm high grade, clear margins, he did radation followed by chemo. In 2004, 3 yrs later a mass (SS) appeared in his lungs and was removed with clear margins, and a new mass was removed last month (SS) 2007 from an area near the lungs. He is in a clinical trial now taking Perifosine (chemo pill). He took his first does this week. He has gotten chect CT scans every 3 months since 2001 so I feel like his docs keep a close eye on it. How is your wife? Has she done chemo?

My wife had surgery in 2000 for Synovial Soft Tissue Sarcoma in the neck. This was removed with clear margins and radiation therapy followed. Everything was fine for 5 years and then a year ago, upon a routine CT scan they found a spot. That was removed and the doctors were confident that this was it............ Well, here we go again... They found another spot on her lung and now we are scheduled to go for a consulatation to figure out what to do,Has anybody here had similar experiences that we could talk about. My wife is a wreck, we have a beautiful 8 year old daughter (who will probably never get to see siblings : ( ) and some support would be great ... thanks
Hi
I really hope everything is working out ok. I am so sorry to hear about your wife's diagnosis last year.
my wife was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma of salivary glands in 3/2006 and we went through entire treatment - surgery, RT and CT.
