How long after lobectomy is the recovery? Does the coughing ever go away? How long does the pain last? Can't seem to get enough air. Can anyone give advise?

I was told by my surgeon that it would take a good year for full recovery.  I had sugery on July 1, 2005.  I had 2 more rounds of chemo after surgery.  In August I was back at work teaching high school.  I walked kind of slow and was a bit stiff, but little by little it did get better.  The coughing will eventually stop and it feels so very good when it does.  I found that taking Aleve was better than taking the prescription pain pills.  I am 58 years old.I was staged 3A.  I have had clean scans since my surgery and am very grateful to Gpd and to all of my family and friends who supported me.  Hope this helps.-Carol
