Hey Bill, This is Lorene. I haven't viewed this site for a long time. You asked if I was a surgical canidate. Yes, I had part of my stomach removed along with the greater and lesser omentum. Since that initial surgery, I've had my gallbladder removed and some peritoneal metastasis. My third surgery was essentially a lap. We again removed more peritonel mets. This has not at all been a conventional route of treatment, but my choice. I'm rather head strong and wasn't willing to go the more traditional route. However initially, I did do radiation and an oral med, Xeloda (5FU). I've taken many alternative supplements and I can't really say if any of them or all of them have contributed to me still being here. More than anything, I believe, that all the energy, prayers and love sent my way has helped. At present, I have some swollen nodes and am set up for a scan in a few weeks--I've been knocking around the notion of the more aggressive chemos but still not to keen on the idea. So Bill, GOOD LUCK to you and yours--there is no rhyme or reason to this cancer stuff, one simply gets what they get. Know there are many people who have you in their prayers.
