This is the 2nd go around  I've had to apply Efudex on my face.  The first time I applied the cream to my entire face was about 1 1/2 years ago. The side effects were horrendous; the usual that everyone else seems to experience.  But, once my face healed, the skin was better then ever before and I hardly remember those painful moments.    Now, I have a spot on my nose that either never healed in the first place, (though my dermatologist said it did), or it's returned with a vengence.  Anyways, as of yesterday I've stopped applying the cream (after 40 days) and my face looks like a red lobster. I applied the cream to the nose and around the nose.  It's crusty, scaling, oozing, and bleeding in parts, and burns after washing.   A couple of things that have helped: Advil to reduce pain, and best of all, Mepital a silicone based dressing to place under the nose pads of the eyeglasses.  If any of you wear eyeglasses and have had to apply Efudex on the nose, you can imagine how painful it is to take your glasses on and off while your skin keeps peeling off.  Mepital is great...it sticks to the nose pads but doesn't peel the skin off.  Thanks to everyone else who's given suggestions.  If anyone has tried a wonder treatment to reduce the lobster reddness...let us know.
