Just some quick background. My father is currently undergoing chemo and radiation for his diagnosed tongue and neck cancer. He has type 2 diabetes. At this point he cannot tolerate anything in his mouth. So he requires hydration & nutrients through a feeding tube.

His chemo is very low dose and he is not tolerating it well. He is unable to keep anything in his stomach. Nausea and vomiting regularly, even on anti-nausea Kytril. He has had to go the hospital a couple of times in the last week to get IV hydration.

We've tried Boost (too much sugar) and Glucerna (for diabetics). He can't keep any of it down. I found some great recipes here:

http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,6950,

all based on fortified milk. these sound promising, but the fortified milk has too many sugars.

So the question is, are there foods that he might more easily tolerate:

1. That would help settle his stomach
2. is high in calories
3. Low to no sugars

He will see a nutritionist/dietician soon, but if anyone has any ideas, I'd be grateful. This is posted in nutrition, but if anyone has suggestions regarding nausea/vomiting, I'd appreciate those as well.
