Relieve muscle and joint pain

I am undergoing Interferon treatment for a melanoma which was removed in May 07. I think the drug is responsible for my muscle and joint pain which I experience pretty much on every spot of my body. While a massage sounds good, I wonder if acupuncture could be a better long term approach. Thanks to anyone who has dealt with a similiar experience. Rebecca

Acupuncture for boosting immunity against cancer

I have soft tissue sarcoma (STS) of MFH. Resection was done two months ago and radiation treatment just started 4 days ago. After the radiation treatment, I will go into the monitor phase to see if any metastasis happens. Medical study concluded "chemotherapy in the treatment of extremity soft tissue sarcoma
remains uncertain. This approach cannot be adopted as the standard of
practice for all extremity soft tissue sarcomas.
If there is a survival benefit for adjuvant chemotherapy in extremity STS, it is probably small"My friend who is an acupuncturist told me that there are several points that generally improve one's body immunity and should be tried. So, I bought per his recommendation the electro-stimulator instrument and with his instruction and started the acupuncture treatment. Hope this helps preventing or minimizing the metastasis. If you, the reader, know of acupuncture experience for immunity against cancer, I would appreciate greatly your sharing of such. qksand

Acupuncture-ovarian Ca-chemo

Hi to everyone,

I am in the middle of ridding myself of Ovarian CA (Borderline Serous Tumor) Stage 3. I first came down with it in 1995, because it is a "borderline" type, only surgery was recommended.

Then, in 2005 my CA-125 was 177 (It had never been elevated, even when I had a 8 cm ovarian tumor in 1995! So, I had to go for more surgery in April, 2005--my abdomen was quite full of cancer--still the borderline type of cell.

Now I am taking Doxil and am on my 5th treatment. I have bone pain and take pain meds. I'm afraid I'm getting addicted. I am also getting, (I think) Esophogeal erosions or reflux from taking so many pills. I get bad rashes and the "hand foot" syndrome associated with Doxil. My CA125 went as high as 345, after surgery. It is now about 180. The surgeon said he could only get 80% of the cancer in my abd. thus the chemo.

I would like to know how acupuncture or moxibustion could help me? I am an RN who has studied alternative medicine quite extensively. I take all the supplements that the Naturopath at CTCA recommends and some that my local MD has suggested. I also get Meyer's Cocktail (a vitamin IV) and am going to try homeopathic "Iscador" which is used in Europe for all types of cancers. Is there any place that acupuncture would fit into this picture? No one at the CTCA has ever contacted me about getting Acupuncture, the efficacy of it in my case, etc. I have been a CTCA patient since July.

Any information on this would be very helpful.
