aspartame - harmful to everyone's health

I receive an excellent e-publication from Dr Janet Starr Hull:http://www.healthynewsletter.com The July issue contains this link about aspartame:http://www.sweetpoison.com/aspartame-videos.html I recommend that everyone reading this message take a look at this
information about aspartame from sweetpoison.com, regardless of whether
or not you consciously use aspartame. Aspartame has been proven to cause brain cancer, seizures, severe eye problems - the list goes on and on and on. Unbeknownst to most people, aspartame is chemically similar to
formaldehyde. If aspartame in liquid form is left to sit on the shelf, or exposed to heat, it will actually biodegrade and become formaldehyde. Phenylalanine, a component of aspartame, can cause serious medical problems for hundreds if not thousands of people. (read to the end of the message to see what else it becomes.) Is
this a substance we should be taking into our bodies?Aspartame is now being marketed in over 6000 food products. It also is being served in thousands of restaurants' foods, including McDonalds (the lemonade, the diet drinks), without being posted as containing aspartame. It no longer has to be listed on the label of any food as containing NutraSweet, but aspartame does have to be listed under ingredients. Check the labels of the products you are picking up, and if it contains aspartame, put it back on the shelf. Even better yet, take the can/jar/package to the store manager and complain that he is selling an unsafe product, and request that the store post prominently displayed public notice of all products they sell that contain aspartame. Before ordering a drink or a salad dressing at a fast food restaurant, ask if it contains aspartame. If it does, don't buy it, and tell the manager on duty that since they are selling an unsafe product, the least they can do is post notice as to which of their menu items contain aspartame. Make sure you aren't getting concession items at the movie theater, bowling alleys, public sporting events or concerts, etc, that contain aspartame. Ask the managers of those venues to publicly post products they sell that contain aspartame. Of course aspartame has become a major ingredient in diet products (e.g. Slim Fast,) but get this; aspartame has even insidiously found its way into non-diet over-the-counter drugs. Check some of the psyllium or other fiber products. Almost all of them contain some kind of sweetener, and for some that sweetener is aspartame. Look at cough preparations, whether syrups, lozenges, or liqui-gels. At least a few of them contain aspartame. Aspartame is even now being seriously implicated in Gulf War Syndrome.
Major soft drink companies have been shipping free diet soft drinks to our troops overseas. When stored or heated above 85 degrees F, as in desert heat,
Aspartame in Diet Drinks breaks down into neurotoxic substances: Methanol
(wood alcohol), Formaldehyde (embalming fluid), Formic Acid (ant sting
venom) and DKP (brain tumor agent). No wonder so many of our valiant service men and women have been getting sick. (see this link for more specific clinical information and further links: http://www.members.tripod.com/~aspartame/eyes.htm It would be wonderful if concerned citizens of the world could stop the marketing of aspartame, but for now that is most likely a pipe dream. However, if you take away only one thing from this message, I hope it will be that you make it a point to avoid ingesting any aspartame, and that you encourage your family and friends to do the same. sincerely, Tre

Leep Procedure 1 week ago

I just had my LEEP done a week ago. I felt the exact same way as most everyone on here, and everyone I have talked to has about being diagnosed with HPV. My cells on my cervix were severely abnormal (CIN3) Which is the last severity before cancer. I am 22 years old. I just can believe that I have HPV, even though my Doctor told me that 85% of us have HPV, but some just arent clinically affected by it. (theres doesnt show up on pap smears.) Anyways, I am still really paranoid and depressed about getting cancer in the future, and not being able to have any more children. I know that the chances are very slim that I wont be able to get pregnant, or stay pregnant -- but there is always that "what if" factor. Well, Doc says to go back in six months for a PAP . Hope everything goes well with everyone else. PS....I know it sounds really gross, but does anyone have foul smelling odor after the LEEP? I am paranoid about that too.

Is OsteoSarcoma contagious in any way?

Hi, I don't know anything about cancer, but I am seeing someone that is in remission from Osteo Sarcoma (bone cancer). I was just wondering if there is anything I need to know about protecting myself?I know its probably an ignorant question, but is any form of bone cancer contagious, or are my risk factors increased by being intimate with a partner who has/had it?

Motorcycle Cancer / EMF Radiation Many health professionals are coming forward to contest the complacency of antiquated views regarding various electromagnetic exposures and serious health effects. Regarding proof of EMF harm, the updated motorcycle cancer website links provide a comprehensive accounting from experts and doctors worldwide. The melatonin implications alone are alarming as discussed in The Motorcycle Cancer Book. Precaution is the best defense.Randall D Chttp://www.motorcyclecancer.com

Cyst on ovary along with fibroid found

Hello..........Begining seven months ago I began to have abnormal menstrual cycles. I'm 38 & my cycles have always been short, lasting no longer than 3-4 days. With each month that passed my cycle lasted a day or two longer. I attributed it to stress or working too much, but by the 5th month I bled for 17 days in one month, there was a break of a few days in between. No spotting through out the month, only prolonged menstrual cycles. I was now concerned so I scheduled a O.B appt. A pap smear was done & upon a vaginal examination, the Dr. said my right ovary felt a little large, doctor wanted to do a endeometris biopsy? (I think this is how you spell it) anyhow it was almost painless, it was done right then & there. Only took a few minutes. Apparently it's a small procedure that only involved taking a small tissue sample by pinch on the outside of the uterus. I was then scheduled for a ultrasound to take a look on the inside. Well a few days later I was told my biopsy of the outside of the uterus was negative, but pap came back inconclusive.....my ultrasound found a small cyst on my ovary & one fibroid, also told too small to do anything about it. I'm scheduled for another pap soon. Dr. thought my uterus might have been too thick, causing cycle to not permit blood to filter through properly, thus the prolonged periods, but uterus is normal, no thickness. Interesting enough, my cycles are back to normal again. I was told I could have another ultrasound done again in June 08 just for the sakes of taking a peek again. Dr. feels probably not necessary but doing it anyway. Any ideas anyone.....what could of caused the prolonged cycles for a temporary time like that...........no pain or discomfort........aside from having a very difficult time shedding unwanted pounds (10 lbs), seems like I do everything, but can't lose any more than 2 lbs after weeks of trying. Maybe not related, perhaps I'm just paroid & a worrying..........One more thing.....13 yrs ago, I had a leap procedure done to remove vaginal warts....I have had annual pap smears since then, & all came back good, except this funny one coming back inconclusive......Should I worry????

Making Everyday Healthy Choices.

I've had 2 close friends who to this date have successfully battle Cancer. One choose to do alternative health treatments and has been cancer free for years. In her doing so I have educated myself about things we can all do to stay healthy. 60% of all products we use are absorb into our bloodstream therefore it’s important that we as consumers chose our products with scrutiny. Everyone should be using natural non-toxic products for personal care, detergents, cosmetics & cleaners. Although we are not able to all afford to buy organic foods, we all can replace our shampoos, skincare, etc. with better choices. My family began buying Shaklee products and have been very happy with the quality and price. www.Shaklee.net/StayingGreen Please consider purchasing items which can benefit your health whether Shaklee or one of your choosing.

vitamin D response is telling

Traditional medicine reacts quickly to any research indicating that vitamins may have apharmaceutical effect rather than simply act as a basic nutrient. The strident nature of the response to any research indicating that vitamin C or D have beneficial effects makes me suspicious. Good science should be open-minded. It should welcome new research findings that questions traditional beliefs. This isn't the case when it comes to vitamins or other natural remedies--even when the conclusions are supported by good research protocols.I can only conclude that there is someting to the claims that traditional docs and pharmaceutical companies close ranks to protect their profit margins when a cheap or public domain substance are found to provide some medical benefit.Ultimately the truth will emerge and endure. Unfortunately, the disingenuous criticism of any kind of vitamin therapy will delay potentially valuable treatment for some people desperate for life exstending therapies today. I curse the profit mongers who reject potential patient benefit in the short term for a few more sheckles to pay for their Mercedes leases and their kids' cosmetic dentistry or nose jobs.People, trust your better judgement and find physicans who have you welfare as their first priority.

Vitamin D builds strong immune system

Vitamin D, in the form of sunlight, is converted into calcium for stronger bones and a healthier immune system. The synergistic effect of vitamin D along w/other vitamins/minerals obtained from food sources (ideally) builds a strong immune defense so one is not as susceptible to viruses/bacteria which are opportunists and seek a weak terrain (the human body). My grandfather was a well-known and highly respected doctor in the late 1800's - 1900's who was very familiar w/the health-giving benefits of sunlight. He advocated exposure to the sun (no sunscreen) and water as the cheapest medicine there is. Solariums were in favor, mostly in Europe, and people who were ill would seek the mineral-rich waters of springs and the benefits of sunshine. My own father swore by the sun and every day would lie in the sun for as long as possible, even in the winter. He lived into his ripe old 80's and died a peaceful death from natural causes.

likely caused by occupational exposure

My husband works in a factory that makes brakes. Aug. 1 he was diagnosed with metastatic Renal cell carcinoma. His left kidney was removed. He went thru Radiation for his hip bone. He has about 9 tumors in his lungs. His job dealt with many carcinogens. Neither of us have risk factors other than occupational exposure. Has anyone else delt with this in their experience with cancer? Trying to find the cause. I know it was the chemicals. There were many he was responsible for adding, cleaning, analyzing. (for Plating, friction and degreasing tanks). I feel like this is a very well covered up problem. I know people are constantly seaching for the cures, I feel if we find the cause, many more lives will be spared. Please help!

Do mammograms CAUSE cancer??

I have seen on 4 or so web sites that say that mammograms cause cancer. I know this sentence has a big "NO WAY' factor to it, because we have been oh so brain washed into thinking that mammograms are great and if you 'catch' the cancer early there is a better chance for a cure. Check out newstarget.com and mercola.com both are trusted health sites that tell you exacly why mammograms are not good for us...Originally published February 14 2007 Mammograms offer no health benefits whatsoever, doctors concludeby David Gutierrez (NewsTarget) An increasing number of doctors are contesting the claim that annual mammograms decrease women's risk of dying from breast cancer. Danish researcher Dr. Peter Gotzsche first made this claim in a study published in "The Lancet" in October 2006. Gotzsche had re-analyzed the studies originally done on the benefits of mammograms and found them unconvincing. Since then, other doctors have begun to assert that in addition to failing to offer protection, mammograms — which involve exposing patients to radiation —may actually increase women's risk of cancer. "The latest evidence shifts the balance towards harm and away from benefits," said Dr. Michael Baum of University College in London. According to Canadian columnist Dr. W. Gifford -Jones, women between the ages of 40 and 49 who have regular mammograms are twice as likely to die from breast cancer as women who are not screened. "Experts say you have to screen 2,000 women for 10 years for one benefit," he wrote recently. Gifford-Jones also points to other risks, from the physical to the psychological. According to some authorities, the squeezing of women's breasts during mammograms may rupture blood vessels, causing cancer to spread to other parts of the body and actually increasing a patient's risk of death. He also pointed to the trauma suffered by women who receive false positives from their mammograms, and to the dangerous sense of security felt by those who receive false negatives. Studies show that mammograms fail to detect cancer 30 percent of the time in women aged 40 to 49. In addition, it can take eight years before a breast tumor is large enough to detect, by which time the cancer could have spread to other parts of the body. "Mammograms actually harm far more women than they help," said Mike Adams, author of "The Healing Power of Sunlight and Vitamin D," a free report that teaches prevention strategies for breast and prostate cancer. "They are used more as a recruiting tool to ensnare women into a system of medical control based on false diagnosis and fear tactics. Most women then give in to chemotherapy, surgery or radiation treatments that may ultimately harm them or even kill them."

nutrional prevention

Historically speaking what came first cancer or mass produced conventional food? Neither, they came simultaneously. Conventional food is genetically engineered to grow bigger, faster and more colorful. This allows the food corporations to profit more from production. One third of the population will get cancer because our bodies are doing exactly what has been done to the food that we eat. This is simply that the cells are reproducing faster than normal. We are what we eat. And by becoming a vegetarian and eating local organic food you will greatly reduce the risk.

Leep Procedure

In June, 2006, my pap smear came back showing that I had HPV, abnormal cells; and I was at a low risk for getting cancer. Over the past year, I have had three pap smears and a biopsy...no signs of cancer, but the results of the pap smears came back with the same results each time. My doctor wants me to have the Leep procedure on September 6, which I think is the best thing to do. I have read all the messages on the message board, and the responses that individuals have given about the procedure have varied. Luckily, I have a great doctor who I trust explicitly; and I also know that every individual will react differently to the procedure. The biopsy that was performed caused no pain; and in the past six years, I have had two endometrial biopsies which also caused no pain (no anesthetic either time). This procedure will be done in his office, and he has explained what the procedure will involve. But, I would like someone to give me an opinion on the procedure, Would it best for me to have the procedure as an outpatient in the hospital or in the doctor's office? I have noticed that a few people had experienced racing of their hearts as well as shaking. I cannot even have novacaine in my shots to deaden by gums at the dentist. So, the big concern is mainly the shot to numb the area as well as the after effects of the procedure. Any comment will be greatly appreciated. Debbie

I am 23 and I have been diagnosed with barretts. My LES no longer works because of the severe acid I had. I have to take four different kinds of pills a day. Is there any kind of treatment I can undergo to help me? I have heard of things like photofrin and HALO 360. Because I am so young what kind of chances do I have of getting cancer?
Alkalized Water helps to fight cancer!!!!!!!!!

I have been particularly interested in Cancer prevention since
my sister passed away from Ovarian Cancer at the age of 36. Since then I have
been researching everything there is to know to avoid Cancer in my own life. I
did purchase an amazing water ionizer from a website called www.H2OpH.com. I bought the
Orion unit because I like the stainless steel look and it has the most options.
When I got it my husband tested it being skeptical. They sent a pH test kit and
we were very surprised when the water turned yellow which told us that our water
was 5.5 pH. Then when we installed the water ionizer we tested our water again
and it was purple which meant a pH of 9.5-10. A number of things did change immediately in my life which was more red
in my lips and in the inside of my eyelid (a sign of much better oxygenation in
the blood) and I also slept through the night without waking up which I never
read about as a benefit but I sure was happy to receive that added blessing. I
chose the Jupiter line from www.H2OpH.com because those are the line of
water ionizers that Dr Robert Young recommends. First we were looking at the
Enagic machines for $3000-4000 but were so excited to find the Jupiter Orion for
$1495. We are so happy now and I know that the website I bought my machine on
has a lot of good information and a great selection of videos. Remember: cancer can't live in alkaline environment!
I wish you the best,

Fucoidan

Agel UMI BenefitsIn many parts of the world, seaweed is not a regular part of the daily diet. In fact, there are many people who would not even consider eating seaweed. However, with Agel UMI, the exceptional health benefits of this oceanic treasure are now available to the masses. So, what is it about the brown seaweed that is so extraordinary? Through extensive research, scientists have identified a complex sulfated polysaccharide, called fucoidan as the active ingredient. Its primary makeup consists of an essential sugar called fucose along with other elements such as xylose, mannose, and galactose, and glucose. Studies consistently show that fucoidan possesses a wide range of properties beneficial to maintaining optimal health. One of the primary ways in which Fucoidan provides a vast array of health benefits is its ability to interact with, and modulate the immune system. Several studies have identified many of the immune modulating effects of Fucoidan.1 2 The ability of a substance to modulate the immune system is an extremely useful property. Modulation is a term used to describe the process of reducing the extremes of cellular activity – either stimulation or inhibition. Immune modulating substances have the ability to increase immune function when it is depressed, such as in conditions like chronic fatigue, and then to reduce it when it is over-stimulated, such as in auto-immune diseases like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. Most immune modulating agents work by improving inter-cellular communication. One way cells interact and communicate is by presenting glycoproteins on their surface. Glycoproteins are complex information-rich macromolecules composed of a protein core to which is bound arrays of linked saccharides or sugars (polysaccharides). The structures of the saccharides vary and therefore relay different codes for different messages. For example, one message might tell a cell to secrete a specific cellular product, and another message might tell a cell when to divide. Other cells have corresponding glycoprotein receptor molecules, which can then read these messages and respond accordingly. Thus, our bodies are involved in a very sophisticated and harmonious intercellular communication all the time. The immune system depends heavily on this kind of communication to co-ordinate cellular defense, apoptosis, cell attack and repair processes. When any of the range of saccharides required to build competent glycoproteins (and thereby convey an accurate message) are missing, the quality of that communication is compromised. It has been shown that dietary supply of certain saccharides improves the integrity of glycoprotein production. Fucoidans provide an abundant supply of Fucose, one of the necessary saccharides, and smaller amounts of several other required sugars. This is likely to be one mechanism by which the fucoidans exert their immunomodulatory effect. Now, with this understanding of glycoprotiens, and intercellular communication, let’s specifically identify the ways in which Fucoidan has been shown to be of significant benefit for health and wellness.References1: Antibacterial and immunomodulating activity of fucoidan, Zapopozhets TS, Besednova NN, Loenko IuN.
NEED TO MOVE ELECTRICAL ITEMS AWAY FROM BEDS

Vital information that is well known to the electricl and telecommunications' industries as well as the U.S. Government, Canadian Government, British Government, Australian Government, Swedish Government and more is being withheld from the public. Two of our grandsons were diagnosed with rare immune deficiencies (low IgG subclasses 1 and 3 -- signifying "aging." Inflammation which contributes to aging is the beginning of the precancerous process. The boys, however, were infant/toddler ages when diagnosed.Bottom line: I moved the boys away from walls opposite electric meters and they "got well." We had been told they may develop Leukemia or Lymphoma or other cancers. We were asked if children had died in the family. (No). Blood tests were done w/no findings to make a genetic link.I asked about high voltage powerlines. We were providing daycare for the boys in our home which is only 50 ft. from two high voltage lines Stopped caring for them in addition to moving their beds away from "powerwalls."Due to governmental and industry cover-ups, I conducted guinea pig studies in our home that yielded pre-Leukemic blood changes soon after their cages were placed up against our back bedroom wall close to our electric meter. Severe neutropenia, lymphocytosis and hypersegmented neutrophils were among the white blood cell changes. The guinea pigs also developed asthma as their first noticeable change. Both grandsons suffered intractable asthma until after their beds were moved -- "lowering EMF/EMR (electromagnetic field/electromagnetic radiation) exposure.I refer to this as "an avoidable healthcare crisis" -- any person can and will be affected adversely if sleeping close to electrical items including but not limited to electric clocks (any), electric meters, gas meters, security alarms, monitors, touchlamps, lamps with dimmer switches, fans close to head of bed, power supply boxes for cordless phones and electronic games, bad wiring, currents on waterpipes going over or under one's bed and much more. Literally any health problem can occur all the way from poor sleep to cancer. In 1994, I received a copy of an article in "USA Today," provided by the American Cancer Society (contained file no "RAD"), that recommended moving all electric appliances away from close proximity to one's bed. Today, cancer charities as well as governments and industries continue to minimize and deny that EMF's have been classified as "toxic" and are categorized as Class 2B carcinogens. I work alone but communicate with EMF activists and scientists from around-the-world. I do not seek compensation and am glad to provide additional information to help save your child from Leukemia -- literally "any health problem!!!" I am very worried about anyone undergoing chemo and radiation treatments who is not informed of the dangers of sleeping in a bedroom polluted by EMF/EMR. Best wishes and take care everyone!!! --Message edited by CancerCompass staff: for personal protection, personal information removed. Please review CancerCompass Member Guidelines at http://www.cancercompass.com/common/guidelines.html --

Should i See a Doctor?

I am 34 year old female. In the last year I have had a lot of stomach problems. I seem to get frequent stomach pains in my lower stomach. I went to my OBGYN and went through a few ultra sounds and test. There was noting there, he did recommend I see a doctor and ask me if colon cancer was in my family, I said no and nothing more was done. I had my gallbladder removed a few years earlier and ever since then have had frequent bowel movements so I assume that is what it is from.
With in the last 8 months I started having hemorrhoids which was something new, for me. I thought people who got constipated only got this found out that's not true. I took on a new job about 6 months ago and have been extremely tired all the time and I have assumed this is from the job. I have also been slightly overweight my entire life but in the last month I have lost almost 20 pounds and have not changed my eating habits so I am not really sure how this is happening. My bowel movements are constant almost diarrhea and they happen more frequently like every 20 minutes apart for an hour or so. I can't even eat with out having to run to the rest room. It is so bad sometimes I can't make it. I am hardly ever hungry any more and my husband thinks I am starving myself but I just don't want it. But when I am hungry I eat and have to run to the bath room. I have stomach aces a lot more now also. And have had gas pains and gas a lot more here lately. Which doesn't make since because I am very careful about what I eat since I have been getting so sick. I started getting a little worried and looked some signs up tonight and it seems I may have a few that are signs of colon cancer.
I read on that having a family history of breast cancer could also increase this. My mom is a 5 year survivor of breast cancer and has several polyps removed over the years. I just don't know if I am jumping the gun on going to the doctor or not. Guess I just need someone to tell me there opinion.
