prescriptions for less

Hey!! I just wanted to let everyone know that I recieved an email today about prescriptions @ Costco. You don't have to be a member to go there you just have to tell them at the door that you need the pharmacy. According to snopes.com they did an ivestigation on pricing of prescription drugs. It is amazing what they found out. So many of us are paying so much money for something that really doesn't cost that much. Many of the pharmacies are charging way too much for these drugs. You should check this out for yourself and see what you think. When I looked up Zofran at Costco it showed that there was a big difference in pricing. I thought this might be something that could help some of you out and wanted to share it with you!! http://www.snopes.com/medical/drugs/generic.asp Snopes.com

prevention

Historically speaking what came first cancer or mass produced conventional food? Neither, they came simultaneously. Conventional food is genetically engineered to grow bigger, faster and more colorful. This allows the food corporations to profit more from production. One third of the population will get cancer because our bodies are doing exactly what has been done to the food that we eat. This is simply that the cells are reproducing faster than normal. We are what we eat. And the corporations are profiting from the problem and the solution (cancer treatment). However by becoming a vegetarian and eating local organic food you will greatly reduce the risk.

I found this new product called VEMMA. It beats Xango and many of the other products out there. The ORAC Value is at 115,000 per 2 OZ Shot Glass. I take it twice daily and my migranes, hay fever, energy and my addiction to soda and coffee are gone. Check it out for yourself.http://myvemma.com/RobsOnlineGiftShop

I will be flying from the Midwest to Europe about six and a half weeks after my RAI, and returning three weeks after that. The radiologist warned me that I may still be radioactive enough to set off alarms in airports at that point, and suggested I get a letter from my endocrinologist to carry with me, just in case. Has anybody else had any experience with this? Has the letter worked, or did the radioactivity result in a huge hassle, or what?Dotty

newly diagnosed

I have recently had FNA of a cold thyroid nodule [also recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism] that is suspicious of papillary cell cancer. My TT is scheduled in a month. I will soon turn 62, so all I read tells me this is not good. Are there any 50+ survivors out there that can tell me their experinces? I am a registered nurse, but cannot recall ever having a patient with thyroid cancer. I live in the Atlanta area.

Helping my husband

I am a 26 year old newly-wed. Myhusband just lost his mother February 2007. We were just married on New Year's Eve and I need some advice. My husband was the baby of the family and he and his mom were very close. He is now still in grievance for his mom and I can understand that he often tells me that during his lunch break he goes to visit his mom's grave site, but he cannot go inside of her home. I just want to know if anyone can give me any advice on how to help him cope with his loss. Like I said we were just married and we were planning our honeymoon for Valentines but after all this it had to be postponed. I want to be there for my husband without feeling like I am telling him the same thing that it will be okay. I cannot say I understand the hurt he is feeling due to the fact my mom is still living and he asks me daily have you talked to your mom, and sometime I feel uncomfortable telling him about my mom with his mom being gone. If anyone could offer me some advice on this I would greatly appreciate it. Lovingheart

Tips for support with Cervical Cancer

Hi, I am Vicki and my only sister of 23yrs was diagnosed with small cell cervical cancer in August 06 and two weeks ago it was confirmed that it has spread. A second lump apeared on a vein in her chest and is crushing her stomach and other organs. She has been told that without serious treatment she only has 2weeks to live. She at first didn't want anymore treatment but has agreed to have 2 3days worth of 2 different types of chemo with a 21day rest break inbetween and then see if it's helping after that. It's been unbareable for the whole family, we all live in the same house (2parents and us kids 25 & 23yrs) so we always watch what we say to eachother in case of upset etc. My sister was told that if the treatment works she might be lucky and get a year out of it, she doesn't talk about it at all, just wants to sort out her finances and who gets what of her possessions when she goes...CAN ANYONE HELP ME with how to help her through this, everything I think of seems lame and useless..Sorry if this upsets anyone, I have you all in my prayers and I totally appreciate how hard it is for all involved with this terrible disease...xxx

Reply to Nick7764

hey, nick.

sorry to hear about your grandmother. my grandmother died of pancreatic cancer in 1999. the doctors did not find out until she had only 4 months to live. she could not eat, and she lost over 80 pounds. my mom died in 2000 of kidney failure. and that same year, my doctors found a tumors in my right breast, 3 of them. so you could imagine how scared i was, especially after losing both mother, and grandmother. well anyway to make a long story short, after the doctor told me that and scheduled sugery to try to remove the tumors, my husband went to the herb store amd purchased MARY"S TEA or essiac tea. its to be used for cancer. well anyway i took that for about two weeks, and surgery day they could only find 2 tumors. they removed then, and they were not cancerous. i know that you said that your grandmother can not take many things. have you guys ever tried alternative medications (Herbs)? let me know?

Sleep Problems

I never had sleep problems until I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. At least nothing that I couldn't conquer on my own. Now sleep is the fatherest thing from my consciousness. My doctor gave me ambien and it is fantastic. I am not a druggy. Don't even take asa or vitamins except once in a while. So I didn't want to take a sleeping pill, but no choice. With ambiem I NEVER have a hangover, no matter how many hours of sleep I get or don't get and it takes effect in just a little while. TIP: it will have more of an effect on an empty stomach.
