Carac Cream

Hi Everyone,I started using Carac Cream .05 on 1-29-2007 for 30 days. I did not have much of a reaction until the 2nd week. My forehead had only a few spots, but the rest of my face turned deep red. I read all of the messages on the board and was so thankful for them. My Derm Dr. did not give much info. I guess he did not want to scare me to death. The tip to use vaseline on my face at all times was a life saver. I had very much pain, swelling, deep redness and peeling. I did not develop sores, but I credit the vaseline for that. I was tired, had chills, could never sleep at night for the pain. I thought I was home free when I used the Carac for the last ime, but the next week was the worst for me. I am still red, but it is getting better everyday and I can say I am glad I used it. The Derm Dr. said he wanted to see me in 3 months and wanted me to start using the Carac once a week. I was shocked, but he said it would not turn red, just for maintenance. It was very traumatic to go through this, but I'm hoping it was worth the agony. I had a BCC on my arm and had it removed. My face had a few AKs, not many, but my face was so red, I guess I had quickly dividing cells?TipsAdvil and Advil PMWarm compresses/Ice packsVaseline all the timeHot soaking bathsI let the shower in the morning beat the dead skin off my face, don't pickDrink lots of waterDove soap for sensitive skin, used it twice a day and no stingingEat a balanced dietChocolate candy was my comfort food and my husband was a wonderful coachBe sure to use a good sunscreen and to wear a hat when outsideI want to thank everyone that posted a message. It got me through and I must have read them 10 times. If you want to ask me any questions, please feel free to send a message. Good luck and the very best to everyone. Fisher Girl
