As my 54 year old mother just been diagnosed with stage 4 gallbladdder, we are looking for other surgeons to see if there is anything else they can do. We are trying to make her an appointment with Dr. Fong at Sloan Kettering..Also- what diet should she be on, what medicines can anyone reccomend? She is a healthy woman- if anyone has any reccomendations I would appreciate it greatly. The gallbladder was resected in Aug 2006, and cancer was found inside. In Dec 2006, she was treated by Tomotherapy, an image guided RT treatment, to 54Gy in 15 fractions owing to local recurrence. Now she is having an oral drug called Xeloda as chemotherapy. Another drug Gemcitabine should also be an effective drug, but we will use it only if there is another recurrence. She is also having Coenzyme Q10 800mg per day as supplement, an antioxidant. Yleaf Wed, 28 Mar 2007 00:00:00 GMT Thank you both. I hear that gemcitabine is a good drug.
