CancerCompass message board discussion started by Fightingfordad on 3/29/2007 http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,10818,0.htm Wed, 23 Jul 2008 00:00:00 GMT Wed, 23 Jul 2008 00:00:00 GMT http://backend.userland.com/rss RSS.NET: http://www.rssdotnet.com/ It was recommended to my father by an MD ND PhD in homeopathic philosophy that he take Lapacho.  My father has metastisized kidney cancer and is on Sutent.  There is now some concern that the combination of the Lapacho and Sutent may have caused his platelets to fall to dangerously low levels--he started to bleed internally.  We discussed taking the Lapacho with his encologist before he started it, and were told it was fine.  I guess it's hard to know what's fine and what's not when it comes to herbs.  They can be helpful in treating a condition, but just like a drug, they too can have side effects--sometimes dangerous ones.Anyone know anything about the Lapacho, besides that it's supposed to help kill cancer cells?
