erbitux treatment

I am 58 years old and thru with my radiation and Erbitux treatments. It has been 9 months now. I was wondering if anyone has had a pain in the left side of their stomach after any sort of exercise? This has troubled me after I was able to get out and walk. I tried to bird hunt again and after a short hunt when I went to get out of the truck the pain would start. Now I wonder if I will able to race again.I thought it was strange that they always pushed on my stomach while I was getting the Erbitux.

I have a brother the same age as you that has been diagnosed with throat cancer,(very advanced stage 4) he had his first treatment of Erbitux today and has been told his chances for servival go from 15% with Erbitux alone to 50% with radiation and Erbitux. My question for you is what were your side effects during your treatment, how long did they last, severity of them ect... My brother is wanting to refuse the radiation because of fear of side effects and we are hoping to reduce those fears. Thank you very much!

RE: erbitux treatment

The Erbitux treatment was tough. Your face, head and chest will break out with acne the worst you ever seen. They says that is how they know it is working. First the face then the head and last my chest. I had seven treatments and 28 days of raditation. Was to have 35 treatments but had a reaction to it. The smartest thing to do is to get a feeding tube. In my case they could not find the main source. So they treated my whole neck. I will not hold back that was rough. I chose not to get a tube and lost about 50 lbs. It was not a very smart thing to do. The last treatment was in August of 06. I have lost my saliva glands and some taste, but things are slowly getting better. And I mean slowly.
