82 year old woman with ovarian cancer - Stage 3

My mum is 82 and diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer and after four treatments of carboplatin she is still having to have her stomach "tapped" every 7 days due to bloody ascites. Now the doctor says he wants to mix the carboplatin with taxol. I'm worried that it might be too much for an 82 year old 100 pound woman. Any comments, suggestions?
