CancerCompass message board discussion started by Mariebrn2007 on 5/29/2007 http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,12486,0.htm Wed, 20 Aug 2008 00:00:00 GMT Wed, 20 Aug 2008 00:00:00 GMT http://backend.userland.com/rss RSS.NET: http://www.rssdotnet.com/ My husband was recently diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic bladder cancer, which has spread to his left kidney being totally consumed with tumor.  Several of his lympnodes and 30-40 tumors in his lungs.  He has already had one treatment (chemo) of Gemzar and Carboplatin, the second one I'm unsure because I wasn't there of what the doctor gave him.  This pass week he was unable to receive a treatment because his white cell count was to low.  He urinates frequently which is very painful, full of clots and bloody.  I don't understand why his doctor is not offering to take the one kidney, or offer any other options except the chemo.  They are very vague in responding to question regarding treatment and outcome.  Tomorrow we are going to hopefully receive another tx and i will update on his progress or lack thereof.If anyone knows what the process is with his condition, truthfully and what other options are available to us, I would really appreciate it.
