tarceva and trombosis

my husband has been participating in experimental treatment of non small cell lung cancer with tarceva here in Italy for the last year. His tumor was almost reduced to nothing in 5 months and then he was operated on to remove all the scar tissue and the tumor core. he is still taking the tarceva as a procaution against a reoccurance of the cancer.prior to beginning this treat he was undergoing chemiotherapy. The chemo causes a trombosis in his left leg and he was treated for this with coumadin. When he began treatment with the tarceva there was a reaction with the coumadin and he came very close to having a massive interanl hemorage.since then he is being treated with daily injections of a medicine called fraxiparina which is a type of eparin. Now he has developed another trombosis in the other leg! Does anyone have similar experience or an alternative solution that is still compatible to the use of tarceva???

Sorry about these clots. Blood clots (DVT) are a problem for lung cancer patients more then other cancers. Are the Doctor's telling you that it is a side effect of Tarceva? I have not read any correlation between the two, but have not done much research on Tarceva as it did not work for my husband.Best of luck.
