Belching

My husband has esophageal cancer that has spread to his liver and a few other areas. His biggest problem is belching. He is eating very little, mainly drinking. He was a big man so he does have extra weight on him but he cannot get proper nutrition. He hasn't started chemo yet. It seems this is a rare problem. Has anyone had this awful eruptive belching and have found something that helps. Thank you. Sue

Belching

My father-in-law had an esophageal resection (did your husband have this surgery?) and his doctor told him that this terrible belching was to be expected because when you remove that much of the esophagus, then the air has no where else to go but back up. It doesn't work it's way thru the system like before. On the upside---he should have less flatus than the rest of us!!!
