New Member Looking to Talk

Hi, my name is Gill my birthday was this past Monday 10/11 to which I am finding I may have NSCLC. Not much of a birthday present. Going to hospital tomorrow for P.E.T Scan, then to second cancer doctor Tues. to find out results and options available, I have been reading a lot just trying to get an idea of what is in store for me. Probably reading too much at times, making myself worry to much. Anyway I found this site and was inspired by some of the stories I have been reading and feel like maybe there is hope. This past Friday I had a Bronchoscophy and Mediastineoscoposcy sorry not sure of spelling to get bioposy's thats where the prelim reports indicate NSCLC. Which is the lesser of the two eviles NSCLC or SCLC? Well hope to hear from you take care and God bless.

Dealing With Cancer For First Time.

Gill,
I would like to talk to you. I am married to a wonderful man and he has been diagnosed with squamus cell carcinoma of the neck and tonsil. We have done all the scans and blood work. We are very new at this and love to hear sucessful survivor stories. What is NSCLC? I am mainly needing to talk and learn. We have only been married for 10 months, and he has just started radiation treatments. Still has five weeks to go. We are in our 50's and we were Jr. High sweethearts years ago. I will tell you our story if you are interested. Just let me know.
I can only tell you what the Doctors have done so far and how things are being handled.

Hi Gill. You should go to www.lchelp.com. It is a very active board. You should introduce yourself (you can use this same introduction you posted here) in the topics "Non Small Cell" and post it again in the "General" section. You will get a lot of answers! This cancercompass board is not active at all.

HI! My name is Jen. My sister is fighting Cancer
For two years. Now they gave the worse news ever.
They said that she has it all though her body.
She has three older children. They are in twenties. None of them are married. But the youngest and the only girl is getting married oin June. This year. Because she wants her mom to see her get married. Our dad had cancer of the
bone. They tolk his arm from elbow down off.
I'm worried it will happen to me. I'm scared..
See I fell two -three years ago. Hurt my hip.I didn't go to doctor. I can walk I said. But now it starts to hurt and all the way down my leg.
